It was a great time spent outside learning about a local farm, we all decided to come back in the spring and help Taylor with more work around the farm.
Today the gardeners went on a Field Trip to My Brothers' Farm located in Pleasant Hill, Oregon and ran by Taylor Larson. We were able to miss the black storm clouds that loomed overhead. The kids were able to see what Taylor has been working on for the last year and a half. We saw what hop plants look like and learned what they are used for. We also got to do some orchardist work by pulling back the old straw compost around the yearling filbert trees and replacing it with dried leaves. We were able to do about 70ish trees, only 100 or so more to go.......
