Garden class on the 7th of May was a busy day. We weeded around the rhododendrons next to the cafeteria and laid bark down where the weeds were removed. Gourds were sanded and drilled into birdhouses. All of our plants were cleaned up and prepped for the big sale on the 12th. Check out more photos!

With the help of 3 U of O Urban Farm Students we scraped the grass and weeds from the secure storage area and laid down gravel. The Windheims and I built part of the fence that will enclose the tools and 6 rain barrels.
4/16's Garden class consisted of watering many plants with rainwater collected by our only 55 gal. drum. We planted cabbage, lettuce, arugula, blue potatoes, and transplanted tomatoes. The second graders decorated the plant stakes. All the kids worked so hard. We also had three students from the U of O's Urban Farm class helping during this garden class.
This garden class consisted of moving materials like gravel, manure, and soil, planting seeds in 4 in. pots, painting plant stakes, sanding gourds, and talking about the needs of plants.
A bunch of people made it to our 3/31 work party. Mrs. Robertson and Mrs. Gibson and family, about 20 kids from Clubhouse and me. We worked on the sod classroom, moved some leaves and soil and planted some artichokes
